Trials & Tours

Showcasing via combined trials or tours both form important parts of  PASS4 Soccer Networking on behalf of our players.

Showcases for visiting US university soccer coaches were held in December 2007 at Gateshead, Bradford, Bristol and Cobham (Surrey) for players seeking entry to an American university or college in September 2008. Over 70 players took part and 43 US universities were represented.

In 2008 we will be staging one major showcase at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in December over 2 days and one night with PASS4 Network players and US coaches in residence. All the games will be recorded on video and each PASS4 Network player will be given a free copy of the game video.

PASS4 does not have Assessment days as these are both unnecessary and expensive for potential student athletes and their parents. Think about it. Why attend an "assessment" involving travel and perhaps stay overnight to attend a personal meeting or take part in a run out without a US university recruiting coach present and be exhorted to commit on the spot to paying a further £1600 to £2000! Then when you change your mind have to fight for a £1500 refund!

Elite and talented players will be playing for or have recently played for a team as part of a PFA Scholarship, an Academy, Centre of Excellence, Elite College Academy, County Scheme or High School managed under a professionally qualified coach. If you are not in education you should still be under formal training with a qualified coach. PASS4 are in touch with UK coaches who know your game and US university coaches who know us and trust our judgement.

In March 2008 a 16 man PASS4 Team visited Charlotte in North Carolina on a game and educational visit. We trained at University North Carolina Charlotte and played 3 official matches against Belmont Abbey College, Louisburg College and Winthrop University. In 2009 we are planning at least 3 tours including one female side.

If you are considering taking part in a Tour team with other us scholarship consultants find out about their past events. It is important to know how many coaches attended including a breakdown of the scholarships awarded. Operators are charging £1800 plus so make sure this is not just an expensive football holiday.
