SAT & ACT Entry Test Dates
Student athletes wishing to join any 4 year US university, especially participating in NCAA DI or DII sports soccer scholarship in August 2009 must book an Entry Test. All NAIA institutions request a Test score although some will waive for talented players with decent grades.
SAT TEST
The Standard Assessment Test (SAT) is the most popular. It is strongly recommended you take a test before January 2009 and make the booking in September 2008 if possible.
There are 6 test dates in the UK -
2008 - 4 October (9 September), 1 November (26 September) and 6 December (5 November)
2009 - 24 January (26 December), 2 May (31 March) and 6 June 2009 (5 May).
International Registration deadlines are shown bold in brackets. Please note that many test centres are fully subscribed earlier so make sure you book early or prepare to be disappointed.
ACT TEST
The American College Test (ACT) is also popular and will suit students with science grades. There are also good standby arrangements for latecomers.
There are 5 test dates in the UK for foreign students for entry in "Fall" 2009.
2008 - These are 25 October 2008 (19 September), 13 December 2008 (7 November),
2009 - These are 7 February (6 January), 4 April (27 February) and 13 June (8 May).
Registration deadlines are shown bold in brackets.
BEST ADVICE
Do not put off taking a test. Even if there is uncertainty about entering university in the UK or USA failure to take a test by January 2008 will significantly reduce the chance of winning a soccer scholarship and/or the level of awards offered.
Please note the June SAT & ACT tests are normally too late. The May SAT test leaves a little more time for players seeking soccer scholarships.
