Andrew Fox became the latest PASS4Soccer Network Members to secure a Professional Contract following completion of a Soccer Scholarship in the USA. Andy has put pen to paper on a deal at Peterborough United Football Club and will wear the #18 shirt. Andy has been on trial for the last few weeks which has included a pre-season trip to Ireland and a 3-2 victory of Tottenham Hotspur.
Andy applied to PASS4Soccer on 19 July 2010 and attended a trial on 2 August in London. Following an impressive performance, he signed into the PASS4Soccer Network Program and played in the PASS4Soccer Showcase at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in December 2010. Following receipt of several offers from NCAA DI and DII universities, Andy joined St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas.
Manager Dave Robertson said: 'Andrew comes with a good pedigree and has spent time over in the States playing football and studying. He brings a bit of versatility, he can play in a number of positions and I am looking forward to working with him, developing him and I believe that he brings good competition for places. I am pleased it is all done.'
Fox added: 'I have been on trial for a couple of weeks now and have really enjoyed it. I have spent the last four years in Austin, Texas but I had a contact at the football club and wanted to come over and try and win a contract and I am delighted things have gone well.
'I managed to complete the first challenge, now I need to kick on and try and break into the first team. There is a lot of very good players here and they have made me feel very welcome. I have played a bit further forward than left back previously, but I have been really enjoying that particular role in the games that we have played.'
