Grading

For entry at age 18 the basic calculation of the Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement for entry to US universities is determined by British-Patterned Grading Scales based on General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE ) and Scottish Secondary Education grades (Lowers).

A levels, BTEC National Diploma or Scottish Highers are important to a US university sports programme and are used after admission to determine the minimum number of hours a student athlete must complete to graduate.

A level, BTEC or Scottish Higher grades will increase the students GPA score for student athletes entering at age 19 or later.
