Grading
The emphasis for soccer scholarships must be the desire and determination for Higher Education. In the USA you will be known as a student-athlete. Attending a US school is about being a student AND an athlete. Attending a US school to 'play football' will result in failure.
For entry at age 18 the basic calculation of the Grade Point Average (GPA) requirement for entry to US universities is determined by British-Patterned Grading Scales based on General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) grades at age 16.
A levels, BTEC National Diploma (Extended Diploma) or Scottish Highers are important to a US university sports programme and are used after admission to determine the minimum number of hours a student athlete must complete to graduate.
A level, BTEC or Scottish Higher grades will increase the students GPA score for student athletes entering at age 19 or later.
